Another great weekend in Pulaski County USA! We had our annual Frogtober Fest in Waynesville, The Ark did a Zumba Party in Pink to raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness, Fort Leonard Wood had a Hudson Car Show and we had our second weekend showing of the Production of Frankenstein!
The weekend started off a little rainy and chilly, but the party at The Ark Community and Sports Center, on Friday night, really heated things up! Eight certified Zumba Instructors came together to make a difference and raised over $300 towards Breast Cancer Awareness. The Party in Pink filled The Ark with lights, music and dancing for over two hours and fun was had by all!

Frogtober Fest is an annual festival put on by Waynesville to celebrate W.H. Croakers birthday! Who is W.H. Croaker? Well, he is Waynesville’s mascot! You can see W.H. Croaker watching over Waynesville along Historic 66 as he is the giant frog rock sculpted and painted by local tattoo artist Phil Nelson. This year W.H. turned fifteen, so the celebration of Frogtober Fest was even more special. Vendors lined the streets, the smell of food and frog legs filled the air and music filled the park. Iberia DJ Service kept the festival alive with karaoke and MCed the cake walks and other fun activities. The Waynesville-St. Robert Chamber of Commerce headed up their annual Frog Race, sponsored by Sonic, where anyone could buy a frog to race down the Roubidoux River for a cash prize! Who knew frog racing could be so fun?!

This next weekend is looking to be a busy one again! This is our last weekend for the Production of Frankenstein at the Theater on the Square so if you haven’t seen it yet, this is your last chance! Saturday morning Fort Leonard Wood is having their huge Fall Cleaning Yard Sale, so if you love going to yard sales, this is the one to go to! Richland is having their annual Hometown Harvest Festival to be followed by Cruise in at Crossroads. Enjoy a day of vendors, music and classic cars and motorcycles. Back in Saint Robert the Hampton Inn is hosting a Best of Fall Shopping Event with 22 vendors and raffles! Grab your girls, get your shop on and win some great prizes, including a one night stay with the Hampton Inn! Join the Idumea Baptist Church in Saint Robert for their Annual Fish Fry with Gospel Music entertainment by the Family Connection. Still need more music, head on out to Dixon Saturday night for a free concert by Michael Hargis at the Missouri Festival Park. And finally, if you are looking to try something a little different this weekend, head on out to the Saint Robert Municipal Golf Course for a tournament of Glow in the Dark Golfing! Sounds fun to me! So, if you are in Pulaski County USA then you shouldn’t be bored this weekend and if you aren’t in Pulaski County USA, maybe you should take a trip! Have a great weekend and remember to get out and do something fun!
