1. ShrimpFestival- takes place annually in early September. Hosted by Paul Smith of Show Me Shrimp Farms this festival is truly one of a kind in central Missouri. Pond side sales of freshwater prawn starts at 9 am to a very enthusiastic crowd. The festivities generally include shrimp dinners, horseshoe games, volleyball, a bounce house for the young ‘uns, wine tasting for the adults, and live entertainment. 2. Cow Days- is a September tradition that dates back to the days of the Great Depression when Dixon merchants enticed customers to shop at their stores by rewarding them with a ticket for a free cow giveaway. Cows are still given away at this family friendly street festival- with a cash option. Food, bands, vendors, and people fill the streets during this one of a kind two day festival.

3. Dream House Dolls- home of the Fashion Mannequin, is the 2nd largest Barbie distributor in the United States and is located in the historic T.A. Murphy home at the corner of State Highway C and Oak Street. Stop in and see the museum of vintage and collectable Barbies as well as her friends and memorabilia.

4. Di Trapani’s Italian Bistro- is a destination restaurant overlooking scenic Portuguese Point of the winding Gasconade River.
