1. Museums On The Square- Waynesville’s Downtown Square is home to two museums, the Old Stagecoach Stop Museum and the 1903 Courthouse Museum. These treasures are open to the public from 10 am until 4 pm on Saturdays April through September. Both buildings are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Old Stagecoach Stop has been a landmark in Waynesville since 1854. During this time it has served as a stagecoach stop, a hospital during the Civil War, a hotel, a boarding house, and now as a museum. The 1903 Courthouse has served Pulaski Countians for more than 110 years and is the 4th of 5 courthouses to date. Designed by Missouri State Architect Henry H. Hohenschild the building shows similarities in design with Basilica of Sant’Ambrogio in Milan, Italy. In addition to the exhibits a favorite feature is the english oak ceiling with exposed rafters and joists in the second story courtroom. Admission to both museums is free of charge with donations accepted.

2. Frog Rock- Nominated to Rand McNally’s “Best Of The Road” contest in 2011 as Best Oddball Attraction Frog Rock, also known as W.H. Croaker, does garner a lot of attention. The Frog Rock story began in 1997 after a Missouri Department of Transportation project left behind a large boulder on the hillside. Local tattoo artist Phil Nelson volunteered his time and labor to sculpt and paint the rock into the quirky, photo opportunistic Frog Rock. The rock has become so popular that it has its own festival each year, Frogtoberfest.

3. Festivals- Some people say that Waynesville is always celebrating something. Actually, they’re right! In addition to Frogtoberfest families love St. Patty’s Fest, Summer Jam, Freedom Fest and Old Settlers Day.

4. Roubidoux Spring Campground & RV Park- At the Route 66 bridge, on the banks of the “Roaring Roubidoux”, in the heart of Waynesville this campground offers urban trout fishing, and cave diving at the renowned Roubidoux Spring. This city owned & maintained campground and RV park is within walking distance of dining, shopping, nightlife, a certified Trail of Tears site, and the museums on the Square.
