*Records from Post Waynesville 1862-1865: A must have for Civil War historians! When occupied by Union troops in June of 1862, Waynesville was a small Ozark village of 94 citizens, residing in little more than a dozen residences. It was strategically located on the St Louis-Springfield Road, midway between the railhead at Rolla and the next post west at Lebanon. The 5th Missouri State Militia cavalry regiment spent much of its time escorting wagon trains from one side of the county to the other. The wagons carried supplies for camps and fortifications in southwest Missouri. The troops also made forays into the countryside to locate bushwhackers. The citizens of the town and county were divided in their loyalties and suffered depredations by both sides. STOCKING STUFFER!  (John Bradbury and Terry Primas 2016) $5

Tombstone Inscriptions of Pulaski County: In the early 1980’s Pulaski County Historical Society volunteers visited all known cemeteries in Pulaski County and painstakingly recorded the tombstone inscriptions. Their research was published in two volumes in 1984 and 1985. Ten years later, in 1995, editor Leonard Fetterhoff combined the editions, along with a surname index. This book is invaluable to researchers, genealogists, and historians. Many of the stones documented in the 1980’s are no longer legible today.
