Big BAM Day 3 Bonus: Discover Richland

Big BAM treats cyclists to unexpected and extraordinary treasures in towns and villages that ordinary travels may bypass for faster thoroughfares. Such is the case with Richland, Missouri which will certainly delight and surprise riders who tour Day 3’s official brunch stop. This modest hamlet, rich in history, arts, nature, entrepreneurship and sense of community will greet you like an old friend. Richland Chamber of Commerce and town merchants have banded together to craft these thoughtful and unique experiences for Big BAM adventure cyclists.

At the junction of Hwy FF & 133, Richland Ambassadors will welcome you and provide a place to refill your water bottle. Locally owned and operated by Carrie Turner and her brother-in-law, Donnie Bolan for the past 10 years, they serve up hand-pattied burgers, fried pickle spears with their homemade Ranch, as well as the best Milkshakes in town. Become a kid again on their Bike Obstacle Course.

They have a working classroom available for groups to bring in their own creations and make them new again. Richland native and recent Army retiree, Sue Daugherty has returned home to reopen the family Pub. You will find her sister Jackie cooking up the lunch specials. Stop in and experience their Bloody Mary Bar or grab a bite to eat.

The Richland Library located at 111 West Camden provides a cool place to sit back and relax. They have free Wi-Fi, computer access and are a phone charging station for Big BAM cyclists. Take a stroll through the community room and see the Alumni Association’s work to preserve the Richland Class pictures.
