Four Festivals That You Will Love In Pulaski County USA!

1. Cow Days- is a September tradition that dates back to the days of the Great Depression when Dixon merchants enticed customers to shop at their stores by rewarding them with a ticket for a free cow giveaway. Cows are still given away at this family friendly street festival- with a cash option. Food, bands, vendors, and people fill the streets during this one of a kind two day festival. It is udderly fantastic!

2. Railroad Days- Held each August in Crocker, MO for more than forty years. This tribute to Crocker’s Frisco Railroad heritage has been bringing crowds to downtown Crocker since 1972. A highlight of the festival is the parade. A beloved tradition, the parade is sure to warm your heart and have you clapping and cheering for the participants. Don’t forget to visit the Frisco Depot Museum during this street festival! Chock full of activities for your entire family! Full steam ahead- Railroad Days is sure to be a hit!

3. Frogtoberfest- Waynesville’s most unique festival is held each year in October. Celebrating “Frog Rock” (a/k/a W.H. Croaker) this family friendly birthday celebration for Waynesville’s unofficial mascot is guaranteed to generate smiles and laughter!

4. Mid-America Freedom Rally– Known far and wide as the mother of all motorcycle rallies in central Missouri! MAFR is three days jack packed with legendary times including amazing bands, vendors, street food, field events, bike shows, and poker runs. Do not miss Sunday’s midnight Rolling Thunder- a goosebump inducing tribute to those who gave all. Bring your bike, your better half, your tent and your cooler- but leave your pets, weapons, and attitudes behind. 18+ to enter.

Ingress Mission Spotlight: Crocker Fireball Run (Crocker, MO)

Ingress agents already know that Pulaski County is road trip country! The area also has several missions that will make Ingress Mission junkies happy! This week we shine the spotlight on “Crocker Fireball Run” created by Resistance Agent Ancell.

Fireball Run fans know that filming for Season 9: Space Race began in Hartford, Connecticut September 26th and that the Fireballers are currently racing their way to the finish line in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Returning to the lineup of Fireball Run racers this year is Team 10- Pulaski Pride consisting of Steve Lynch and Cecilia Murray.

During Season 8, filmed in 2014, the teams raced across America’s Frontier, including Pulaski County. This mission takes you on a portal tour of the town including the Frisco Caboose that was a mission stop for Fireball Run Teams.

Crocker Presbyterian Church- Crocker Presbyterian Church was organized August 13th, 1893, and has holding services for 122 years.

Pulaski County Helipad- Spearheaded by Benny Doolin, who saw a need for emergency landing zones across the county, this pad was dedicated in 1998 and named in honor of Norma Mihalveich.

Indian Memorial- This totem pole in Crocker Community Park was a gift from members of a woodcarving club.

Crocker City Park- Crocker City Park features a walking trail that encircles a small lake. It is also home to rodeos and other community events throughout the year.

Crocker Water Tower-

Crocker Post Office- Named for a stockholder in the Atlantic & Pacific Railroad, this post office has been serving citizens since 1869.

Frisco Caboose Monument- Crocker is also one of Pulaski County’s Frisco Railroad boom towns and the town has a deep appreciation of its railroading heritage. Prominently featured in Norma Lea’s Frisco Park, this bright red caboose is an eye catcher. This cupola caboose was built out of a boxcar in 1975 in Springfield, MO and was originally numbered #1418. It acquired it’s #11648 number via the Burlington Northern railroad company before it was retired.
